Christopher Columbus Day...Cassie Style

My dear friend Cassie has a Columbus day celebration every year. You've never experienced the true joy and thrill of Columbus Day until you've celebrated one with Cassie. We had a fun filled night of singing, relays, sharing new discoveries about ourselves and making awesome boats out of eatable materials.
Cass, is a teacher by profession and a dang good one at that, she has specialized in music and art, she quilts, is the best cook I know, and has really gorgeous hair, basically she just rocks. So thanks Cass for making Columbus Day one to go down in the books!.... well, I guess it already does... but you know what I mean. :)

Saturday with the Bachison's :)

Saturday Mom had a little get together. Xander and Kaiyah wanted to make a video so this is the product. It's a little bit boring but we sure had fun making it!

Jeffrey's Baptism

Last weekend Mom and I headed down to CA to support my good friend Jeffrey Lin in getting baptized. About three years ago I met Jeffrey online. Mom googled my name after coming home from Miss America just to see what would come up, and she found Jeffrey's blog. Jeffrey had seen a rerun of the Miss America pageant on CMT and I was the girl that stuck out to him as the one who should have won, so he blogged about it. Mom sent him an email and then we just started chatting. When I met Jeffrey he was suffering very badly from debilitating allergies. We started talking about the gospel and over 3 years and 15 set of missionaries he decided to take the plunge.

Jeffrey and his family have been great friends to me and great supporters. They came up to Miss Utah USA and they also came to Miss USA in vegas where James (Jeffrey's Dad) won $800!! Wahoo!

While we were in CA Jeffrey showed us around downtown LA, Jeanie (Jeffrey's Mom) taught us how to play Majhan, and we had a great time attending the Placentia 4th ward.

Tiny Dancers

Today was a great day! My good friend Peggy Nielsen asked me to speak at a dance camp for The Dance Establishment. The theme of the camp was "BE" meaning that no one can tell you who or what to "BE". You are the one to decide for yourself.
I spoke to all the dancers about my journey to become Miss Utah and then I sang for them.
They were the cutest group! They were broken up into 2 age groups a younger group I
think starting at age 6 to 9 and then a second group ages 10 and older.
After I spoke to the second group we all road Flow Rider. It was the best, super hard at first. I'm super soar but it was very very fun!!
